I wrote this song about the first night I met my soon-to-be wife, Heather. I was happy with life and content but it wasn't truly living and pushing myself to have more for myself. I felt like romantically, my ship had sailed and so I was ready to just live in my music.

Out of nowhere I met a new friend who saw something that connected us and brought the two of us together. I hadn't really gone on a date in years. I finally got up the nerve to ask her to meet me for dinner and like the song says, that night felt like "the best I ever had". Although we had just met, I was smiling, laughing, and myself again. To me, that was the best. I felt young again. Everything from the food to the conversation to the atmosphere, felt amazing. Little did I know that over a year later, we would be getting married. Life is crazy!
